Introduction

E-num offers a service for strong authentication. E-num applications generate one-time codes (response numbers) based on cryptographic keys stored on the device. This can be used as an alternative to SMS confirmations or software tokens from other manufacturers for applications or programs that integrate directly with the E-num authentication API.

Data about our users

Information you provide directly

  • Email and Phone Number: When creating an E-num account, we ask you to provide an email (it becomes your unique identifier) and a phone number. We send an activation code to confirm that you control this number.
  • Identification during recovery: If you have lost access to the device where the encryption key is stored, we may require a repeated identity verification procedure via email and SMS to restore access to your E-num account.

Data received from partners

If you are a user of a third-party application or site that has integrated the E-num API, this service transmits your identifier and request data (challenge number) to us so that we can generate the correct response to confirm the operation.

Data we collect automatically

  • Device Information: When you download and open the E-num application, we automatically collect information about the device type and its unique identifier. This is necessary to bind encryption keys to specific hardware ("device fingerprint").
  • Login History: When you use E-num to log in or confirm a transaction, we save activity logs: IP address, time, operation type, and the name of the service that requested confirmation.
  • Geolocation: We may determine the approximate location based on your IP address for security purposes and fraud protection.

How we use your personal information

  • Identification: We use your email as the primary identifier of the E-num account.
  • Service Provision: We use device data for the correct operation of cryptographic algorithms of the "Challenge-Response" method.
  • Security: We analyze login logs and device changes to identify suspicious activity (e.g., attempts to hack or clone an account).
  • Communication: We use your email to send service notifications, confirmation codes, and information about system changes.

How we share your personal information

E-num does not sell your personal information.

  • Partners (API Integrators): An application or site using our API receives confirmation that the operation was approved by the E-num key owner. They only see data related to their service.
  • Service Providers: We may transfer data to technical contractors (hosting providers, SMS mailing services) who are obliged to ensure the protection of this data.
  • Compliance with Laws: We may disclose your information to third parties if we reasonably believe that disclosure is necessary in accordance with applicable law, court order, or government request.

How you can manage your information

You can manage the list of connected devices through the application settings or your personal account on the service website. You can also initiate the procedure for changing the linked phone number or email through the support service or automated recovery tools.

If you wish to delete your E-num account, please contact our support service at privacy@e-num.com. Please note that we may store some activity logs for a certain period for security and fraud prevention purposes even after the account is deleted.

International Data Transfer

Your personal information may be transferred and stored in countries other than your country of residence. We take necessary measures to ensure data protection during its cross-border transfer in accordance with applicable law.

How we protect your personal information

We use modern encryption and data protection methods.

  • Local Storage: Critical access keys are stored in the protected memory of your device.
  • Application Protection: We strongly recommend using a PIN code or biometric protection (fingerprint, face scan) to access the E-num application on your device.
  • However, remember that no method of data transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
